When you’re ten year's-old, starting over is hard. Before Evelyn’s family moved to the Northwest, her mom contact me about the idea of a playhouse for the backyard. So I popped over to their backyard in Bellevue, WA and together we looked at locations, and discussed sizes, budget and design ideas. Based on our meeting, I emailed her these scaled drawings the next day:
She thought the drawings were great, so after I received a materials deposit, I began working. Because I can’t get my trailer into their backyard I did as much as I could at my shop before loading up the truck and trailer.
With the help of two friends, we packed the wall, floor and roof sections through the narrow path to the backyard. I spent the next five days completing the build in time for Evelyn’s birthday. After I left, Evelyn’s mom had an electrician wire the playhouse and add a little heater. From what she tells me, Evelyn has already had a new friend over for a playdate in her new playhouse and they coudn’t be more pleased.
