Cydney reached out to me at the end of January, wanting to explore playhouse options. With three little ones and twins on the way, she wanted an “active” playhouse with a safe way for little ones to get up into an elevated playhouse. You can imagine when the twins are born, how she is going to NEED a way to tire the other three out, keep them occupied, and give her a break - all while being able to keep tabs on them from the kitchen window. So I drafted up a sketch, which turned out to be what I built. The only real difference, was that the slope of the ramp became less, which was great for accessibility. Cydney lives in an HOA, so I didn’t want to push the envelope, so I limited the height to 12 feet and although this won’t be inspected, I built it as if it would be, like always.
I had quite the wait list, so once I worked through most of the projects ahead of her, I reached back to give her a final bid, which she accepted. After receiving her deposit for materials, I poured 4 concrete piers in her backyard, prefabricated as much as I could at my shop, and brought everything to her. Three long days of assembly later and voila! Cydney paid me the remainder of the bid upon completion, and her children immediately began playing on their new Magical Playhouse.
